The 2024 Xinghua Leisure Food Development Conference was staged on March 31 in Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – co-hosted by the China National Food Industry Association, or CNFIA and the Xinghua local government.
Xinghua Mayor Yin Jun said his city's competitive advantages and appeal lay in its agriculture and abundant water supply and other resources and products – contributing to the development of a healthy food industry that held more potential than other regions.
The health food sector is a leading employer and producer in Xinghua. The city is now home to over 600 food manufacturers, with the annual sales of the industry topping 30 billion yuan ($4.15 billion).
In recent years, Xinghua's cooperation with the CNFIA has been boosted by the Xinghua Economic Development Zone and the city has been recognized as a "National Food Industry Strong City" and a "China Health Food Industry Innovation Base".
Mayor Yin Jun also called on more industry experts and entrepreneurs to visit, learn about and invest in Xinghua – to jointly create a great future for the development of the leisure food industry.
