Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – is aiming to attract more industrial projects in the current year.
It will take the regional construction program as its guide, major projects as the focus and optimized services as the support – thereby attracting and constructing more high-quality projects in 2024.
Under the initiative, dedicated efforts will be made to boost the planning and construction of specialized industrial areas.
Since the start of the year, Xinghua has identified and reserved more than 4,000 mu (266.67 hectares) of inefficient plots of land, used for building nine specialized industrial areas including those for special alloys, high-end stainless-steel products and health foods.
What's more, Xinghua will scale up its attraction and construction of industrial projects. In 2024, the city plans to break ground in over 40 major projects, including four big Jiangsu province projects.
There are also another 98 key projects in Xinghua being developed in the current year, generating a combined investment of 11.02 billion yuan ($1.53 billion).
In addition, Xinghua will strive to optimize and improve its local business environment. It will clarify the functions of personnel and responsible people in 58 administrative offices – with functions under the spotlight including administrative law enforcement, project approvals and policy services.
Also, some 20 intermediary service fee items involved in project construction will be publicly disclosed to enterprises.
In 2023, Xinghua's foreign investment in actual use hit $118 million, an increase of 92.8 percent year-on-year.
