The groundbreaking ceremony for a nano copper powder production plant and research and development facility took place on Feb 25 in Diduo town in Xinghua city, located in East China's Jiangsu province.
To cost 590 million yuan ($81.97 million), the plant will be operated by Jiangsu Hanqiao New Materials Technology Co Ltd and produce 105,000 metric tons of nano copper powder annually.
The company will build standardized factories and sterile workshops with a combined area of 45,000 square meters to produce two main products – nano copper and ultra-high purity copper.
The plant's output will be used for manufacturing high-performance electronic components, aerospace materials and medical objects such as artificial joints. These are said to be in high demand in the fields of electronics, medical vehicles, ships, and the aerospace sector, among others.
When at full capacity, the plant's invoiced sales per mu (0.067 hectares) are forecast to top 25 million yuan. The facility will also provide an estimated 250 jobs – boosting the copper alloy industry in Diduo town towards the high-end and intelligent development.
