Statistics showed that Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province –achieved remarkable results in promoting the city's high-quality development in the first half of this year.
From January to June, Xinghua's regional GDP and general public budgeting revenue hit 52.66 billion yuan ($7.28 billion) and 2.70 billion yuan, an increase of 6 percent and 30.8 percent year-on-year, respectively.
It was also included in the 2023 list of top 100 county-level economic cities in China.
In terms of industrial development, Xinghua has added 202 small and medium-sized technology enterprises in the first half of 2023, along with seven new national-level "little giant" enterprises.
Additionally, two projects, involving a stainless-steel high-end refined wire production plant and a stainless-steel comprehensive trade demonstration zone, were selected as major provincial projects for the current year.
Xinghua was recently selected as an example area for promoting smart education in the province. It also moved to improve its medical insurance services for the benefit of its residents.
