Tourist attractions in Xinghua – a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – received 600,000 visitors during the 2023 Qianduo Cole Flower Tourism Festival, which took place from March 16 to May 6 this year, according to official statistics.
More than 360,000 people visited the Qianduo Cole Flower Scenic Area, a 37.7 percent increase from 2019.
Forty percent of visitors went on self-driving tours to the Qianduo Cole Flower Scenic Area, while 60 percent visited as part of tour groups.
In February this year, city officials went to Zibo in Shandong province and Cangzhou in Hebei province to learn from their experiences in tourism and seek cooperation.
To bolster the coverage of the event, Xinghua authorities invited over 400 travel agencies and news media for the news conference of the 2023 Qianduo Cole Flower Tourism Festival.
