Taizhou in Jiangsu province will transform into a carnival during the upcoming New Year holiday.
Running from Dec 31 to Jan 3, the Taizhou New Year's Eve Carnival will feature themed performances, costume parades, and interactive activities. It will center around the Financial Square and connect multiple city landmarks, such as the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall.

The Fengcheng River Scenic Area will hold the "New Year's Adventure in Taizhou" carnival from Dec 31 to Jan 3, including New Year fun runs and engaging performances.
The Taizhou Mei Lanfang Peking Opera Troupe will perform a zhezixi (highlights of opera) show in Binjiang town, Taixing, a county-level city administered by Taizhou, on Jan 1. The Taizhou Huaiju Opera Troupe, meanwhile, will deliver the first Huaiju opera performance in 2026 in Gangyang town, Taizhou.
On the first day of 2026, the Taizhou Art Museum will prepare a palace fan drawing activity for people to create elegant New Year gifts for themselves, while the Taizhou Museum will carry out an ancient costume show, showcasing the beauty of traditional Chinese clothing.
