The 2024 Qianduo Scenic Area Rapeseed Tourism Season – marking the start of the Xinghua tourism festival – kicked off on March 26 and runs to May 8 in Xinghua, the county-level city administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province.
The scenic area, renowned for its agricultural heritage and first-class irrigation projects, is home to what's been called one of the world's four major "flower seas" – large outdoors dedicated flower growing and field displays – and it has been designated a national cultural relic protection site.
In particular, it boasts the distinction of being China's sole water-based rapeseed sea of flowers.
Visitors to Qianduo are greeted with a mesmerizing sight: Endless fields of rapeseed flowers fanning out between azure-hued irrigation waterways, creating an evocative vista reminiscent of golden waves.
