Early breakfast tea known as zaocha and Qianduo rape flowers recently ranked in a survey as being the most popular tourism products in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province.
That's according to a list of Taizhou tourism indicators released on March 23 by She Jiangfeng, a spokesperson from the Jiangsu Provincial Big Data Application and Standard Research Laboratory of Culture and Tourism.
In the first two months of this year, Taizhou received a total of 8.07 million visitors and tourism revenue hit 6.31 billion yuan ($916.73 million), overtaking the same period in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
In catering, the amount spent on lunches and evenings in the period accounted for 57.5 percent of the total spend. Due to its special early breakfast tea – featuring such delicacies as crab dumplings in soup and fish soup noodles – overall breakfast takings overtook the provincial average, to be up 31.29 percent during the Spring Festival holiday.
In terms of the Qianduo rape flower field – which has a world-class agricultural heritage – the figures also pointed to recovery.
Compared with 2021, there was a significant increase in the survey of expressions used to describe the area – such as great catering varieties, good air quality, favorable policies, convenient transportation and well-developed service facilities.
