A special train recently started out from Xi'an city in Northwest China's Shaanxi province – running along a five-day enchanting flower-viewing route – and arrived in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province at about 8 am on March 16.

This was the first group tour of over 1,000 people heading for Taizhou since 2020, according to local media. Following their arrival, the visitors embarked on an exhilarating two-day journey around Taizhou.

The itinerary of the tour covered Taizhou's appealing hot spots like the Fengcheng River scenic area, Qinhu Lake wetland park, the Qianduo rape flower field and Lizhong water forest park.

A special train tour like this one is seen as an indicator of healthy multi-dimensional tourism development. In this case, the Taizhou cultural and tourism department made a joint effort with the Taizhou tourism (Zhengzhou) promotion center, seeking to boost the region’s tourism after years of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the local authorities, nearly 7,000 tourists coming from Henan, Shaanxi, Jiangxi and Shandong provinces – traveling in eight tourism trains – are expected to reach Taizhou city from March 16 to early April.
