The popular Taizhou navy vessel cultural park – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently passed its quality evaluation for national scenic sites and got the green light to be rated as a 3A-class scenic designation, the highest in China being a 5A-class rating.
The navy theme park, which was opened in October in 2021, has proved to be a big draw because Taizhou was the birthplace of the Chinese Navy. The Navy of the East China Military Region of the Chinese People's Liberation Army was established in 1949 at the White Horse Temple in Gaogang district, Taizhou.
The theme park draws in the crowds with the impressive fixed displays of a Xining guided missile destroyer, a Hongzehu integrated supply ship, a Xiamen guided missile frigate and a conventionally powered submarine.
The park is situated in Yong'anzhou town in Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, south of Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge. It covers a total area of about 541 mu (36.07 hectares) and has emerged as a Red tourism venue.
Kids are said to be keen fans of the theme park because they can experience naval life and learn about the development of the PLA Navy. [Photo/WeChat ID: tztour]

The park stages tourism activities that explore science and military education, based on three vessels and one submarine moored there.
Over the last two years, it has held nearly 100 activities to strengthen military and Party history learning and has handled 250,000 visits. As a result, it has been recognized as a Taizhou popular science education base and a center for caring about teenagers in need.
