Taizhou City Jinhaiyun Vessel Facility Co Ltd – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – has, under the leadership of its general manager, focused on the business areas of risk prevention and rescue, special boats, underwater security and special equipment.
Specializing in producing emergency rescue equipment, the company, which has taken the path to innovation-driven development, appointed Luo Xiubo as general manager in 2020 and he led the company to embark on its upgrade.
Luo has engaged in the research and development and commercialization of water rescues and underwater security technology for a long time, with over 20 years of experience at China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited.
Maritime safety and lifesaving equipment has the performance characteristics of a short use cycle and fast update speed, so Luo was faced with many challenges when taking over the company.
He oversaw the introduction of the Beidou navigation satellite system to upgrade key products. After long-term efforts, the company's two projects – an intelligent lifesaving platform for severe sea conditions and an airborne emergency rescue boat – received government funding and broke the technological monopoly previous enjoyed by international suppliers.
Apart from emergency rescue equipment, Luo also extended the market into the underwater security industry. The company has developed a range of new products such as underwater detection equipment and floating barriers for water surface security.
In recent years, the group began producing special equipment and components for research institutes and it has maintained close links with many of them.
