The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, has made significant progress in the construction of various projects in the first half of 2023.
During this period, a special alloy project and a smart logistics port area project were honored as the major provincial-level projects for the current year.
The special alloy project, with a total investment of 800 million yuan ($111.28 million), will produce high-end special alloy new materials for military and aerospace use. When at full capacity, it is expected to achieve annual sales of 1 billion yuan.
With a total investment of 647.19 million yuan, the smart logistics port area project focuses on developing a smart supply chain industrial park that will include a vendor managed inventory (VMI) logistics center, a smart storage center, a cold chain industrial center, and a financial and settlement center.
From January to June, over 30 resident manufacturers decided to begin their second phase projects in the zone. The newly added investment of these projects exceeds 20 billion yuan, with eight second phase projects underway.
To help manufacturers seize orders and expand their markets, the zone has assisted in solving over 40 management problems.
