The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone in Taizhou city of East China's Jiangsu province has been providing a raft of services aimed at helping local companies solve development problems.
For example, the zone recently helped China Resources Snow Breweries (Taizhou) Co Ltd obtain a new version of the pollutant discharge permit, which allows it to reuse wastewater generated from beer production.
Wastewater with a high concentration of organic matter is useful for sewage treatment plants as it can act as a carbon source. With this permit, the wastewater processing cost of the company and the carbon source cost of sewage treatment plants can both be reduced.

In April, representatives of more than 70 local companies attended a training session geared towards teaching companies how to apply to become high-tech entities.
To date, the zone has made visits to 95 companies and collected 29 suggestions related to policy implementation, recruitment, environmental protection and infrastructure.
The zone has also issued a guideline on improving the business environment for companies.
