The Taixing High-tech Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, has seized upon the trend in the new energy vehicle or NEV sector to foster the integration of upstream and downstream industrial supply chains.
That move began in recent years with the settlement there of industrial supply chain support projects, focusing on core components such as generators and batteries.
On Oct 21, manufacturer Jiangsu Youzhi New Energy Technology accelerated its output of new energy passenger car battery trays for leading auto producers such as BYD and Great Wall.
Specializing in new energy battery trays, the company invested 500 million yuan ($70.01 million) in the zone in 2022 to purchase 106 sets of main production equipment such as machine tools and cleaning lines.
In September of that year, the group launched its first production line, which adopted the fusion technology of friction stir welding and hydraulic fixtures, achieving leading levels in its field.
Elsewhere, Jiangsu Jingrun Intelligent Manufacturing, a newly settled enterprise in the zone this year, mainly produces friction stir welding equipment and serves the fields of NEVs and energy storage enclosures.
After reaching full capacity, the company's annual output is projected to reach 1,000 sets.
