A conference on common and key technologies for the advanced ceramics material industry and for the sector's future development was held in the Taixing High-tech Zone in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 24.
Zhao Jun, director of the organization department of the CPC Taixing municipal committee, said that in recent years, the city had focused on advanced materials and key equipment for integrated circuits in the zone, attracting over 20 enterprises above a designated size – those with main annual revenue of over 20 million yuan ($2.8 million) – to settle there.
He added that Taixing had also taken the lead in establishing an advanced ceramic material research institute in the province, promoting the flourishing development of the integrated circuit industry.
Luo Hongjie, executive vice-president of the Materials Academy, JITRI, said that the Jiangsu Jicui Semiconductor Ceramic Materials Research Institute in Taixing had complete facilities and personnel, reaching experimental research conditions.
He added that the core research and development team of the State Key Laboratory of New Ceramics and Fine Processing at Tsinghua University would boost the transformation of many scientific research achievements.
