Early rounds for the 9th "Maker China" Jiangsu Small and Medium Sized Enterprise Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, for the High-end Equipment Manufacturing Competition Area, were recently staged.
They were held on Sept 12 in the Taixing High-tech Zone, located in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province.
The competition attracted 66 projects in the province to compete in the race for the finals.
Fan Cunli, vice-mayor of Taixing, said the city had accumulated certain competitive advantages in high-tech ships and specialized equipment, automotive parts, military civilian integration and in other fields, and the city's gearbox industry was firmly at the top of the list nationwide.
Taking the opportunities presented by the competition, Taixing is expected to further deepen its cooperation with research institutions and well-known universities, he added.
The 66 projects involved advantageous industrial projects with distinct Jiangsu characteristics that have gained market recognition in specific fields.
The included ventures were involved in gearboxes, agricultural machinery support equipment, power and energy storage battery modules, as well as projects covering semiconductor, biopharmaceutical and new energy sectors.
At the end of the day, 25 projects were included as top projects in the competition, with two projects coming from the Taixing High-tech Zone.
