Continuing efforts are being made by the Taixing High-tech Zone, located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province, to work with universities and institutes in a bid to advance the commercialization of research and development achievements.
Local manufacturer Yatai Pump & Valve has established a technology research alliance with Jiangsu University to improve the sealing performance of its water pump products.
In recent years, the company has overcome a series of technical difficulties by working closely with several universities including Jiangsu University.
Elsewhere, Jiangsu Tailong Decelerator Machinery has succeeded in developing precision reducers for global industrial robots, breaking the monopoly on this product held by Japan.

To break through the bottlenecks of technological innovation, the company established a cooperation relationship with the State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmission for Advanced Equipment. This was to ensure that the performance of its product reached the technical standards of benchmark international enterprises.
In addition, the Jicui Semiconductor Ceramic Materials Research Institute in the zone has completed the renovation of its production workshop.
The institute is mainly engaged in the R&D of core technology for precision ceramic components used in semiconductors.
All in all, resources from universities and institutes have accelerated the transformation of scientific research achievements and injected new momentum into technological innovation.
