Jiangsu Jicui Semiconductor Ceramic Materials Research Institute's production project of precision ceramic components for semiconductors equipment – to be built in the Taixing High-tech Zone, located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – received three key construction permits on April 28.
Projected to cost 108 million yuan ($14.96 million), it's being jointly constructed by a team from Beijing's Tsinghua University led by Professor Pan Wei, the Taixing High-tech Zone, the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Taizhou Industrial Technology Research Institute.
The facility will develop core technologies – including the design of precision ceramics components, the formulation process, sintering manufacturing and precision machining for semiconductors – realizing the domestic supply of key components.
Concerted efforts will be made to expand the application of fine special ceramics materials in the fields of national defense, the military sector, as well as in aerospace and new energy.
Construction has started on the facility which on completion will develop and produce large quantities of advanced ceramics products. These will be distributed widely – meeting urgent demand – in response to the special needs of China's semiconductors equipment industry in relevant products.
