Danxia community – in the Yaowang sub-district of Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – held a diverse range of fun activities on Feb 24, so its residents could have a lively Lantern Festival on the day.
Making lanterns, guessing riddles, wrapping dumplings, throwing pots and the ancient game of touhu – also known as pitch-pot – were staged, providing a real hoot for folks while also spreading traditional Chinese culture.
People also gathered to eat tangyuan or glutinous rice balls, the traditional food for the Lantern Festival, creating a great festive vibe.
Moreover, some handy personal services were also offered, including providing oral examinations, hearing tests and blood pressure measurements.
