The Taixing High-tech Zone New Social Stratum Association was established on July 11 and an inaugural meeting was held in the Taixing High-tech Zone in Taixing, administered by Taizhou in Jiangsu province.
As the first association of its type in Taizhou city, it aims to encourage and guide members of new social groups to contribute more to local development.
Zhang Chenghua, deputy general manager of Yatai Pump & Valve Co Ltd, was elected as the first president of the association.
Its founding provides a stage for new social groups in the zone to unite and showcase their talents, as well as giving them a true "home", said Jiang Xiaodong, an official working in the zone.
The association's brand logo was also released during the meeting.
Participants visited the Fengqi Party building park after the meeting.
