The Taixing High-tech Zone – in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province – has ramped up its efforts in the current year to promote sci-tech innovation.
The moves focus on innovation, entrepreneurship and creation. They include the new construction of a research and development institution, an upgraded activity space and a testing industrial park, as well as cooperation projects with universities and institutes.
The R&D institution is expected to bring in an academician team from Beijing's Tsinghua University and develop multiple functions – such as technology R&D, achievement transformations, incubation investments and talent cultivation.
The upgraded activity space is based on the zone's existing Talent Technology Plaza. More diverse innovation activities will be held there to serve innovation and entrepreneurship projects.
The testing industrial park will aim to introduce a number of innovative inspections and testing institutions, with strong innovation abilities, high service levels and an international vision – in a bid to create a provincial platform demonstration area in the zone.
Furthermore, the zone is moving to hold project road shows, sci-tech forums and innovation competitions to bring in more cooperation projects with universities and institutes.
Last year, the zone ranked the 28th in an innovation development assessment among all the high-tech zones in the province.
