The Taixing High-tech Zone – located in Taixing, a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – will adopt an innovative points system to provide precise support for technology companies of different sizes.
The move was approved by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center in Beijing. On Feb 2, the center recognized 74 high-tech zones as test units for implementing the points system.
The system is expected to provide a direct access – to integrate financial and tax policies, science and technology, or S&T and education resources, industrial resources and financial resources – stimulating the innovative vitality of companies.
In the wake of the policy, the Taixing High-tech Zone will classify technology companies into three groups – start-ups, growing companies and mature companies – and will calculate points and rankings for each category.
The top-ranked companies will enjoy priority for project approvals, industrial policies, financial support, and in other areas.
Moving forwards, plans are for the zone to leverage its data resources and explore the innovation value of companies. It will more precisely advise and guide on production factors such as technology, capital, talent, data and land to attract S&T businesses.
