The mechanical and electrical industry in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – generated invoicing income of 34.93 billion yuan ($4.81 billion) in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 17.2 percent.
The positive development momentum was partly credited to the accelerated pace of upgrading by mechanical and electrical manufacturers in the city.
Situated in the Taixing Economic Development Zone, manufacturer Jiangsu Hehai Water Supply and Drainage Equipment Co Ltd has developed a modular intelligent floating dock pump station through technical innovation.

"Through continuous efforts in technological research, development and marketing, the overall market situation of the company this year is quite good," said deputy general manager Kuang Zaiwei.
Since the start of this year, Taixing has been encouraging mechanical and electrical businesses to accelerate their transformation from primary processing to advanced processing, from components matching to overall matching, as well as from low-end products to high-end products.
