In recent years, the Taixing Economic Development – located in the county-level city of Taixing, administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – has pushed hard to develop large-scale enterprises, advantageous products and leading industries.
It has formed industrial clusters for chemical new materials, new energy, biopharmaceuticals, oil food processing and high-end equipment manufacturing.
Recently, a raw materials and new materials plant for phosgenation – the phosgene is a chemical compound used among other things in making dyes – has been emerging in the zone. Operator and owner Jiangsu Changlong Agrochemical Co Ltd has been accelerating the construction pace.
With an investment of 1.15 billion yuan ($160.22 million), on completion the plant is expected to produce 7,500 metric tons of new materials annually for phosgenation and 6,000 tons of raw materials with high efficiency, low toxicity and low residue.
The project aims to achieve the coordinated development of high-end raw materials and new materials.

A new player in the zone, Jiangsu Yunhu New Material Technology Co Ltd is specializing in high-performance anti-corrosion materials that are widely used in the aerospace and electronics fields.
The zone's complete upstream and downstream industry supply chain is promoting the settlement of company there. "Our important raw materials suppliers are located in the park and our coatings are also sold in the park," said Liu Jiahong, general manager of the company.
Based on industry supply chain conditions, the zone has listed being home to one of the world's top 500 enterprises and one of the top 50 enterprises in the chemicals industry as a main goal.
