The county-level city of Taixing – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – has pushed hard to encourage local manufacturers to move towards digital and intelligent transformation since last year.
Manufacturer Wincell Insulation Co Ltd in the Taixing Economic Development Zone is regarded as being a prime example of what can be done.
As a service provider of engineering material systems, the company's industrial supply chain encountered difficulties in procurements, production, warehousing, traceability, e-commerce and other areas for a long time.
But based on new generation of information technologies – such as big data and intelligent artificial intelligence – the company then constructed an integrated internet platform that connects all suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers involved in the supply chain.
As a result, it's achieved resource aggregation, data sharing and collaborative innovation.

"Thanks to the industrial internet platform, supply costs of nearly 15 million yuan ($2.08 million) can be saved annually and the supply chain's overall efficiency has increased by nearly 20 percent," said Zhang Hao, chief information officer of the company.
Since 2022, Taixing has conducted programs promoting accurate services, classified promotions and collaborative innovation – to push ahead with its digital and intelligent transformation.
As such, it's widely regarded as a city that has generated significant results in promoting this transformation in Jiangsu province.
