Binjiang town – located in the county-level city of Taixing in East China's Jiangsu province – was recently given its first award for an excellent rural revitalization performance by the city, according to a news conference held on March 24.
Others to receive the honor that day were Huangqiao town, Yaowang sub-district, Xinjie town, Fenjie town, Quxia town, Hongqiao town, Guxi town and Yuanzhu town.
Statistics showed that Taixing really did well in rural revitalization last year. It allocated 681 million yuan ($99.01 million) in capital and 23 supporting policies, carried out 88 projects, conducted eight test areas and received 27 honors for its performance from Jiangsu province.
Taixing has ranked first in Taizhou – the prefecture-level city which administers it – for five consecutive years in agricultural and rural work, as well as ranking first in the province. It has created a National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park and been elected as a pilot area for provincial agricultural modernization.
In addition, the growth of per capita disposable income of its rural residents ranked first in the province last year.
