To develop further as an industrial innovation cluster, Taixing city, administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, is on the move.
It has identified sci-tech project investment as the "golden key" to activate the innovation chain and galvanize its industrial chain, accelerating the cultivation of new quality productive forces driven by technological innovation.
In 2024, a total of 234 sci-tech projects landed in Taixing, including 27 key projects, placing it at the top of the county-level cities and districts administered by Taizhou. Nearly 200 projects in its key industrial sectors were initiated, representing hefty year-on-year growth of 18.5 percent.
Overall, the city is staying on course to promote investment in science and technology projects to develop enterprises. This year, eight businesses in the city were honored as provincial-level gazelle companies, a whopping increase of 167 percent.
One of the star performers in the city on the sci-tech front is pharma manufacturer Jumpcan Pharmaceutical Group, which was awarded second prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award for the year 2023.
In addition, the city has moved to concentrate its innovation resources on sci-tech projects, with expert teams led by academicians engaged to provide guidance and support for the development of the ventures.
All in all, Taixing is striving to refine its county-level science and technology investment system, in a bid to solidify technological support for high-quality development.
