June 25 marked the 34th National Land Day of China and in the spirit of that Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province is continuing to improve the levels of land conservation and intensified development.
In recent years, the city has made every effort to ensure land supplies, activate dormant land, optimize allocations, and boost innovation and reforms, all in an effort to foster its high-quality economic development.
Those efforts have borne fruits and one result is the Taixing Economic Development Zone, where the Phase II project of the Kimou (East China) Surface Treatment Circular Economy Industrial Park is currently moving up its construction.
Previously, the company planned to cover a project area of 400 mu (26.67 hectares) but ultimately an allocation of 330 mu of land was determined by the city's planning and natural resources.
The bureau has utilized land-use factor guarantee policies to help the project quickly acquire land and start construction, shaving nearly three months off the project construction.
In addition, the city has promoted the intensive and high-quality development of township industrial clusters through measures such as continuous renovation and planning of high-standard parks.
With the upcoming opening of the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge, that structure is expected to bring opportunities for the revitalization of existing factories in the Hongqiao Industrial Park. This will make the redevelopment of inefficient land a new highlight to attract new projects.
Elsewhere in the Taixing High-tech Zone, it is building high-standard, multi-level factory buildings in an optimized fashion. Costing 100 million yuan ($17.76 million), the 9-story Jiushun Steel Structure Plate factory will occupy only 20 mu land, while its floor space will exceed 14,000 square meters.
An improved business environment has also been established in Taixing to shorten the project construction cycle.
For example, the implementation of a new approval mechanism for major projects has saved an average of two months of review time for a single project in the city.
