The output value of high-tech industries based in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – topped 110 billion yuan ($15.28 billion) in 2023, accounting for over 50 percent of the industrial output value above a designated size.

The quartz fiber cloth that the company produces can still be intact after being burned at a temperature of 1,000 degrees for half an hour. At the forefront of high-performance composite materials, the product is now applied in the military sector.
Elsewhere, Jiangsu Hehai Water Supply and Drainage Equipment Co Ltd in Taixing last year generated over 300 million yuan in invoiced sales for the first time.
A company engaged in the research and development of environmental protection equipment, it's been able to seize market share thanks to continuous technological innovation.
Focusing on cultivating innovative entities, in 2023, Taixing added 766 new technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises and over 300 national high-tech enterprises, as well as two provincial-level innovative leading enterprises and nine gazelle – new, high-growth – enterprises.
Overall, it's understood that an innovation system with enterprises as the main driver, the market as its orientation – and with the widespread participation of the public – is now emerging in the city.
