Jiangsu's Taixing city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – has this year rolled out 11 greening projects designed to create a much more livable environment for its residents.
The city planned to build and renovate a green area of about 150,000 square meters in total this year and to date 80 percent of the projects have been completed.
On Nov 14, construction workers introduced young plants in a greening renovation site on the west side of Feicui Garden. The renovation project aims to improve support facilities and enhance the park's walking and touring experience for locals.
New varieties – such as camphor trees, crape myrtles, cherry blossoms and osmanthus flowers – will be added, while convenient facilities such as landscape lights will also be installed.
At the site of a greening renovation project on the east side of the Qiangxi River and the north side of Wanfu community, the construction of concrete cushion layers for the garden road, a parking lot and a leisure square have been completed. What's more, over 90 percent of the planting there has been finished.
While repairing damaged facilities, eco-friendly parking lots will be added, with about 40 motor vehicle parking spaces newly added.
