A smart system has started operating at the north connection project of the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge – linking Jiangsu province's Changzhou and Taizhou cities in East China.
Through the use of technologies such as big data, cloud computing and the internet of things, the system can achieve full-process, real-time, visual and intelligent management of the construction site.
Recently, the system optimized functions for a cement concrete transportation management module. By installing data collection devices on vehicles, it's possible to precisely monitor their current position, the driving route trajectory, as well as the operating speed in real-time.
What's more, when a vehicle commits violations such as speeding, the system issues a warning to remind the driver to correct it.
The most important feature in the transportation management module is quality management. It can achieve real-time data collection, transmissions, analyses, early warnings and evaluations of key parameters. These are used during such procedures as concrete mixing, transportation and experimental testing.
During on-site inspections, engineering quality and safety officers can upload problems they find to the system through their mobile phone, simplifying the process.
Since the smart system started, the main section of the north connection project has had no problems at all with build quality or safety issues.
