The 133rd China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair, kicked off in the city of Guangzhou in South China's Guangdong province on April 15 and will run through to May, with a raft of companies from Taixing city exhibiting in the fair.
For the first time in three years, the event – an indicator of the health of China's foreign trade – has been held on-site, covering multiple fields such as electronics and electrical products, engineering agricultural machinery and building decoration materials.
An estimated 20 companies from Taixing – a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – have installed exhibition booths, including Taixing Longyi Terminals Co Ltd and Jiangsu Sunpower Co Ltd.
In addition, new forklift products manufactured by Taixing companies have made their debut at the fair.
"The fair has achieved breakthroughs in its scale, exhibition area structure and exhibition quality and we reached more than $100,000 in intended transactions on the first day," said a manager at Jiangsu Dingdi Machinery Co Ltd.
Elsewhere, Taixing Sintec Foreign Trade Co Ltd conducted booth design and personnel training in advance, in a bid to boost its sales from the fair.
