The latest official statistics and list of achievements have shown clearly that Taixing city – administered by the prefecture-level city of Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province – got top marks last year in boosting its deep integration of development and opening-up.
In 2022, Taixing's foreign investment in actual use hit $400 million and the value of foreign imports and exports was $6.1 billion, with its foreign economic turnover amounting to $210 million. All these numbers ranked it first in Taizhou.

On its construction of functional parks, the Taixing Economic Development Zone ranked fourth in the national comprehensive evaluation of the high-quality development of chemical industry parks.
Furthermore, the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone was recognized as a China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecological Model Park.
The Taixing High-tech Zone got approval as a provincial demonstration area. That was for the top-quality development of its modern services industry and for being a practice base for green finance – an important branch of sustainable finance – regarded as important to meet the country's dual carbon goals of seeing carbon dioxide emissions peak by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
Last year, the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway started construction of its Taizhou city section, involving Taixing.
The second phase of the 232 provincial highway project got underway there and the 504 provincial highway reconstruction and expansion project finished and started operating.
