Total grain production in 2022 was 635,700 metric tons, up 3,400 tons on the previous year. Last year, Taixing sowed grain on an area covering 1,274,700 mu (84,980 hectares). Total output of marine food came in at 22,800 tons, up 5 percent, with the proportion of high-quality agricultural products accounting for 80 percent of the total.

Taixing has also carried out the return of grass to its fields, also bringing forest back to its fields and has made full use of the gap area to grow vegetables, grain and oil crops. At present, the city's vegetables are being cultivated on an area of about 100,000 mu – most of which are leafy vegetables and root vegetables.

Having seized the favorable opportunity presented by rising hog prices, Taixing farmed and sent a total of 580,000 pigs to market and was home to 226 hog farms in 2022.

To top it off, Taixing was selected as a provincial agricultural modernization pioneer area and held the main event of the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in Jiangsu province.
