Jiangsu Xingyang Marine Equipment Making in Jiangyan Economic Development Zone saw sales exceed 160 million yuan ($22.96 million) in 2025, up over 10 percent year-on-year.
Now occupying 10 percent of market share in China, the company remains the national leader in its sector.
Its success springs from persistent technological innovation. In 2018, the world's largest container ship of 24,000 twenty-foot equivalent units started construction. It needed a 147 millimeter-diameter roller-type chain stopper, a tough order many companies opted to avoid. But Xingyang rose to the challenge.
The company formed a special team and used the finite element method for strength calculations. After a month, it developed a hydraulic version, the first of its kind in China. This new product, driven by a hydraulic cylinder and controlled electronically, is easy to operate, stable, and much safer than other options.
The emergency towing arrangement (ETA) is another technological achievement of Xingyang. Its ETAs are widely used on large engineering vessels, holding over 40 percent of the Chinese market.
Xingyang won ISO9000 certification from the China Classification Society in 2008 and now has certifications from 11 global classification societies. It now holds a total of 134 domestic patents. Nearly 300,000 products have been exported to countries and regions like Japan, South Korea, and Italy.
The IMO Maritime Safety Committee requires liquid cargo ships of 20,000 gross tons and above to have ETAs at both ends with sufficient strength and rapid deployment from Jan 1, 2028. This creates huge growth potential for the company.
