An agreement on the fourth collaborative project combining grants and investments between Jiangyan Economic Development Zone and National Innovation Center par Excellence was signed during a recent promotional event in Shenzhen.
It is a high-performance metal-organic framework (MOF) materials project, which, from initial matchmaking to formal signing, took only five months, setting a record for the fastest signing of such a project.
Its core technology lies in using MOFs, a cutting-edge porous material, to efficiently separate and purify gases such as methane and carbon dioxide from low-concentration coalbed methane.
This can significantly reduce carbon emissions and even transform greenhouse gases that would otherwise be directly emitted into high-value-added resources, realizing environmental and economic benefits.
In June 2023, Jiangyan EDZ led Taizhou in introducing measures to manage scientific and technological innovation projects that integrate grants and investments. It has also cooperated with Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute to establish an efficient investment channel for these projects.
To date, the district has incubated four scientific and technological innovation projects, accounting for over 30 percent of such projects in the city.
