In recent years, Jiangyan district, Taizhou, has made significant progress in driving green and low-carbon transformation in the foundry industry. By promoting clean energy and low-carbon technologies, the district has made notable achievements in industrial enhancement and environmental sustainability.
Jiangyan has successfully upgraded 103 foundry enterprises, resulting in a reduction of 139.5 metric tons of particulate matter and 11.2 metric tons of volatile organic compounds. Over the past three years, the energy consumption per unit of added value in Jiangyan's industrial enterprises above designated size has decreased by 36 percent. The district now boasts nine national-level green factories and green supply chains.
Jiangyan Economic Development Zone has been making strong efforts to transform high-energy-consuming enterprises and currently utilizes clean energy sources such as solar power, natural gas, and industrial waste heat for power supply.
Jiangsu Pacific Precision Forging, located in Jiangyan EDZ, for example, recently installed a distributed photovoltaic system at its factory. The system generates an average of 11 million kilowatt-hours annually, significantly enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. The company's electricity consumption per 10,000 yuan ($1,404) of output value has decreased by about 15 percent.

Looking ahead, Jiangyan EDZ plans to establish an energy management center and further support enterprises in implementing green transformation projects related to waste heat and pressure recycling, water reuse, and utilization of waste residues, further advancing low-carbon development.
