The Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – has shifted focus in recent years and is now exploring new growth opportunities at the cutting edge of technology.
The initiative has accelerated the transformation and modernization of traditional industries, while driving the digitalization and intelligent evolution of the manufacturing sector.
One example of this is Taizhou Qinglang Intelligent Technology Co Ltd, whose establishment was funded by Shanghai Keenon Robotics Co Ltd.
It set up operations in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone last year and Chi Xiaomin, marketing director of the Shanghai parent company, is bullish about its prospects.
"With 14 years of experience, we have a robust industrial supply chain and extensive reach," he said.
"Our robots are deployed in settings such as museums, restaurants and exhibition halls, providing explanations and guidance to visitors".
The company anticipates an annual production of over 100,000 sets of robots for dynamic applications. The move to the zone is projected to help catalyze upstream and downstream enterprises in the district, with the company projected to have an annual output value of 5 billion yuan ($690 million) and generate 250 million yuan in tax revenue.

Elsewhere, stepping into the factory of Jiangsu Tita Intelligent Technology Co Ltd – which makes polypropylene fiber spinning machines for the textiles industry, among other things – the once bustling site of "a thousand people spinning, ten thousand people weaving" has given way to a sight of unmanned intelligent spinning machines.
The factory is said to employ some of the world's most advanced intelligent spinning equipment, achieving full automation in production with an intelligent control system.
"Our goal is to surpass 10 billion yuan in total output value within five years," declared Peng Bo, general manager of the company.
