The Jiangyan Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently conducted training on compiling historical and cultural materials.

During the session, historian Lu Ming shared excerpts from The Development History of the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, using historical materials to offer a comprehensive insight into its evolution since its inception in 1992.
Historian Gao Taidong conducted a lecture on compiling historical and cultural materials, drawing on his extensive experience in editing historical materials. He provided guidance to participants on collecting materials, writing principles and structural formats.
Complementing the lectures were stimulating and fun on-site activities, including historical and cultural knowledge quizzes and discussions on historical and cultural readings.
Looking ahead, the Jiangyan zone plans to improve its communications and collaboration with social organizations and artistic groups.
Plans are also in the mix to incorporate historical and cultural materials into nationwide reading initiatives – and to underscore the significance of historical and cultural materials in the fusion of culture and tourism.
