Service robots assist human workers in completing tasks in a variety of service-focused industries, including healthcare, hospitality, logistics and retail. They are also used in restaurants and in the home, for example with cleaning floors.
The project aims to establish a comprehensive ecosystem for service robots in the district and includes a regional headquarters, a super intelligent manufacturing factory, a robot industry incubation base, a robot engineering innovation center and a robot smart scene demonstration center.
The first phase will cost 800 million yuan ($109.67 million) and about 5,000 square meters of office space and 10,000 sq m of factory space will be leased in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone.
The second phase will involve an investment of 2.7 billion yuan as well as the acquisition of 100 mu (6.67 hectares) and the construction of a fully upgraded automated robot production line.
