They visited enterprises such as Jolywood (Taizhou) Solar Technology Co Ltd to understand their production, operations and the challenges being encountered in the new energy industry.
To foster collaboration, Liu's team organized exchanges between Jiangyan district and the cities of Xi'an and Xianyang in China's Northwest Shaanxi province.
They investigated wind power and solar power projects there, discussing opportunities for cooperation with relevant parks and enterprises in Xianyang.
The Jiangyan Economic Development Zone is widely said to have made significant progress in its photovoltaic and energy storage sectors.
In recent years, a cluster of solar power and lithium battery industries has formed there, generating revenue of 15.56 billion yuan ($2.14 billion) in 2022 – up 52.25 percent year-on-year and accounting for 67 percent of the zone's total revenue.
Moving forwards, the development zone aims to strengthen industry-university-research cooperation, address enterprise needs and promote the high-quality development of the new energy industry supply chain.
