The Jiangyan Economic Development Zone – located in the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is on the move to attract new people and to expand.
A delegation led by Pan Yong, deputy secretary of the district party committee, visited the Harbin Institute of Technology in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province on June 17 to explore cooperation in science, technology and human resources.
In a following symposium, Pan expressed his gratitude for the institute's long-term support and discussed potential cooperation in industry-university-research collaboration.

Kan Guochang, director of the HIT's employment center, gave a briefing on its operations, disciplinary advantages and student employment.
He said that the institute would continue to work with the economic and social development needs of Jiangyan district, give full play to the advantages of talent and scientific research, deepen resource sharing and achieve mutual targets.
Moving forwards, plans are for the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone to deepen its cooperation with the Harbin Institute of Technology and build an influential science and technology park in the Yangtze River Delta region.
