A groundbreaking ceremony for the Yavon Group's intelligent office space system R&D center and production plant – to cost 500 million yuan ($70.87 million) – was held on May 19 in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province.

Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Shanghai, Yavon Group is one of China's top 10 national green business office furniture brands and is one of the first national high-tech furniture enterprises. It possesses 115 patents and has established a branch in Jiangsu province.
The new project will cover an area of 42 mu (2.8 hectares) and will focus on the production and sale of intelligent office space systems.
During the ceremony, Xie Ping, chairman of Shanghai Yavon Group, praised Jiangyan's business environment and lauded the leaders and departments at all levels of the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone for their support.
