Jiangyan district in Taizhou city, which is located in East China's Jiangsu province, is poised to boost the high-quality development of its health industry.
It recently released a work plan that includes developing key areas such as traditional Chinese medicine or TCM, green food and eco-tourism as well as medical and health services.
According to the plan, efforts will be made to optimize the business environment, strengthen innovation, cultivate market players and brands, and attract investors.
Top priority will be given to key areas. For example, Jiangyan district plans to bolster the digital transformation of its representative TCM industry and medical device industry.
"Jiangyan district is home to 20 enterprises above designated size – those with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.9 million) or more – that specialize in the health industry. Suzhong Pharmaceutical Group, for example, is among the top 100 pharmaceutical enterprises in China," said Wu Jianbo, director of the Jiangyan district development and reform commission.
Located north of the Yangtze River and in the central area of the Lixiahe plain, Jiangyan district plans to take advantages of its abundant natural and tourism resources to develop agriculture, tourism and health sectors in an integrated manner.
