The latest evaluation results showed that Hailing Industrial Park – located in the Hailing district of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – ranked 15th among 91 economic development zones in the province, its best ranking ever.
The assessment and evaluation indicator system includes five primary indicators – economic development, openness, being innovation driven, the ecosystem and overall coordination – as well as 32 secondary indicators.
The strong performance of Hailing Industrial Park was mainly boosted from its scores in its innovation and innovative transformation, said Wang He, secretary of the Party working committee of the zone.
In August 2020, the park embarked on an innovative style of management led by the park's administrative committee, which advanced economic, social and investment affairs governed by different parties.
In terms of land use, it activated idle land and factories to make room for seven plants costing 500 million yuan each ($72.56 million) last year.
At present, the zone is home to more than 400 manufacturers, with 80 above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – and 31 rated as high-tech manufacturers.
In addition, great efforts have been made to extend its scientific innovation and informatization. That includes the construction of a science and technology talent square, an offshore incubation base, a network information security industrial park and other initiatives.
