The latest evaluation results showed that the Hailing Industrial Park – located in the Hailing district of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – ranked 15th among 91 economic development zones in the province, its best ranking ever.
It was the first time the park entered the top 20 and the park has gone up a total of 45 slots in the past five years.
To date, the park has focused on the real economy and regarded innovation as the primary driver for development.
The park has been promoting its four top industries – smart home appliances, new energy, new materials and the modern service industry.
At present, there are over 400 manufacturers in the park, with 80 above a designated size – with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.92 million) or more – and 31 high-tech enterprises.
In the last five years, its industrial invoiced sales have increased by 75 percent and general public budget revenue gone up by 12 percent.
In August 2020, the park embarked on a style of management it termed "Jingtai Road sub-district+ company" – led by the park's administrative committee.
Under this arrangement, the park was responsible for economic work in this area and the Jingtai Road sub-district mainly undertook social affairs affecting the lives of residents.
Any investment attraction, development and construction work was conducted by the Dongcheng Group to implement market-oriented operation.
