Livestreaming selling sessions have helped farmers in the Hailing district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – to increase their incomes from their agricultural products.

Over the past few days, Wang Lin, the general manager of Chaodao Cultural Media (Taizhou) Co, has been particularly busy after the company launched the first Taizhou Crab Livestreaming Festival.

"We will focus on the agricultural product market and update our products in line with the seasons," Wang said.

"We aim to create the first supply chain livestreaming room in the city and sell high-quality agricultural products from Taizhou," Wang added.

With just a foldable table, several display racks and a few chairs the greenhouse at Qilinwan Donglin Orchard has been transformed into a livestreaming room – conducting livestreaming sessions to support local agriculture.

"Since we started livestreaming, many people have come to us. Our daily sales have reached 250 kilograms of fruit, doubling our usual sales. On weekends, we can sell up to 400 kg," said Yu Donglin, owner of the orchard.

Noting that this was his first experience in livestreaming sales, he said that this approach had not only increased his income but also enhanced the orchard's reputation.

"It really is a win-win," he said.
