The Fengcheng River scenic area in Hailing district, Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, is witnessing a tourism boom.
Statistics showed that the scenic area received over 10,000 visitors in the first week of March alone, 34 times the number from the same period last year, which drives the development of relevant industries like catering, accommodation, culture and entertainment.
The same boom is seen on online platform Douyin, China's version of TikTok, with 4,300 products related to the scenic area sold on the platform since March.

On March 16, a special train departing from Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, arrived in Taizhou for sightseeing, with the Fengcheng River scenic area included. This was the first group tour of over 1,000 people heading for Taizhou since 2020, according to local media.
"During holidays, we will extend the opening hours based on real-time visitor traffic, and create diverse cultural and tourism products to increase the operating revenue of the scenic spot," said one manager of the scenic area.
It has planned 24 activities for the peak period of spring, with the activities lasting until the end of April.
