Hailing district – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – is continuing to advance its new materials sector, a process it started several years ago, in order to marshal strong drivers for its high-quality industrial development.
At the premises of Asoe Hose Manufacturing Inc, the new materials plant there has ramped up operations to produce newly developed specialized pipelines, which will be used in the field of marine engineering.
The marine engineering hoses are designed to be impervious to breakages, so the requirements for a single strand are exceptionally high, with the target of achieving a single hose length of more than 10 kilometers, said Zou Huashan, the technology department manager.
Asoe Hose Manufacturing Inc, focusing on polymer material tubular products, exports 80 percent of its output to five continents.
Elsewhere, at Jiangsu Golden Bridge Material Technology Co Ltd, the new argon arc welding wire integrated production equipment is currently running at full speed.
The advanced kit is projected to have improved the productivity 8-10 times and has also improved the surface quality of the products, said Wang Lei, the firm's deputy manager.
Meanwhile, 52-year-old Haiyang Technology Co Ltd has 350,000-metric tons of annual production capacity for polyamide-6 granula materials, ranking it fourth in the industry and second in market sales.

Overall, during the current year the Hailing new materials industry is expected to be worth more than 10 billion yuan ($1.45 billion).
