Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, is developing its health industry and building China Medical City there with the full backing of the city, a process it began in recent years.
Ye Donghua, deputy mayor of Taizhou, recently presented his vision to let the world think of Taizhou and China Medical City when referring to the health industry.
Starting construction in November 2006, China Medical City is now home to over 1,200 pharmaceutical companies and over 4,200 high-level talented people.
What's more, China Medical City has established a "1 plus 22" public service platform system combining various industry characteristics.
The "1" refers to the first drug supervision complex in the province. The "22" means that it has collaborated with a dozen well-known universities and institutions to build 22 featured public technology service platforms, around full-chain services including drug research and development, pilot testing, testing and sales.
Since the launch of its construction, China Medical City has invested over 2.3 billion yuan to construct public technology service platforms, new R&D institutions, innovation research institutes and other innovative carriers.
At present, over 20 new drug varieties are in the preclinical research stage, over 30 Class I new drugs are in different clinical research stages and multiple Class I new drugs and Class III medical devices have gone to market.
